How does the donation work?

For every 1p value loaded onto a gift card at www.debenhamsforcharity.com/guidedogs/ Debenhams will donate the equivalent of 5% of the value to Guide Dogs; so if you load £50 onto a gift card Guide Dogs will receive a donation of £2.50.

Who makes the 5% donation?

The donation is made by Debenhams – it does not come out of the money you load onto your card; so if you load £50 onto a gift card you get £50 to spend, the £2.50 donation to Guide Dogs is funded 100% by Debenhams.

How does Guide Dogs get the donation?

Every time you load value onto your gift card using the www.debenhamsforcharity.com/guidedogs/ website Debenhams will calculate the value of the donation and pay it to Guide Dogs.

Will Guide Dogs get a donation if I load a gift card in a store?

Unfortunately not. Although you are able to load money onto your Guide Dogs gift card in any of our UK department stores, only money loaded onto your gift card using the www.debenhamsforcharity.com/guidedogs/ website triggers the donation.

When will Guide Dogs get the donation?

Debenhams will calculate the donations on a regular basis and pay them to Guide Dogs at an agreed frequency.

Where can I spend my gift card?

Gift cards can be redeemed in any of our UK department stores or online at debenhams.com. Visit our [store locator] to find your nearest Debenhams.

Is my gift card a ‘proper’ gift card?

Absolutely! All Guide Dogs gift cards are fully functioning so can have value added and be spent in our stores and online just like all our other gift cards.

Do gift cards expire?

Gift cards expire four years after last use (last use includes a balance enquiry) and any remaining balance will be deducted.

Can I check the balance of my gift card?

Yes, you can check the balance of your gift card in any store, online at [balance checker] or by dialling 0344 800 9091.

Where will I find the gift card number?

It is printed beneath the barcode on the reverse of the gift card. It is a 16 digit number with the title ‘Card No.’ printed before it.

How much can I load onto my gift card?

The minimum value is £10 and the maximum is £500 in £1 increments.

Can I add money to more than one gift card?

Yes, you can add money to multiple gift cards as part of the same transaction. Once you have added the required value to the first of your gift cards select ‘Add money to another gift card’ and continue. Once you have completed adding money to your desired gift cards simply select ‘Add to My Bag’.

Where does the personal message appear?

It will be printed on the letter to which each gift card is individually attached. It will appear on the front to the left of the gift card.

How many characters can I use in the personal message?

A maximum of 250 characters may be used with a count-down facility to assist you with keeping track.

Is there a delivery charge?

Yes, there is a standard charge of £1.97 for all UK next day delivery postage/p>

Can I send a gift card to someone else?

Yes, you can send a maximum of 10 gift cards directly to addresses other than your own per order.

Can I purchase/send multiple gift cards?

Yes, you may purchase multiple gift cards which you can elect to have sent to you or sent directly to other recipients.

What if I have made a mistake with my order?

Provided you notice the error before you pay you can edit your order to correct such errors as spelling mistakes, incorrect postcodes, gift card values and so on. If you have already paid for your order then contact Debenhams’ Customer Support on 0345 340 9576 Monday – Friday (9am – 5pm GMT) and we’ll see what we can do to help.

Can I edit my order?

Yes, you are able to edit your order at any point before you complete the payment for it.

Can I cancel my order?

You have 14 days in which to cancel your order provided none of the balance on the gift card/s has been used. Should you need to cancel your order contact Debenhams’ Customer Support on 0345 340 9576 Monday – Friday (9am – 5pm GMT) and we’ll see what we can do to help.
